Dynamic and static.

   Japan has always been a country of extremes. in terms of fashion and culture this is no different. Cold and warm, dynamic and static, neat and decorated, ethnic and international, traditional and modern, eastern inner peace and western open minded . These elements mixed together became a Japanese unique culture all of it's own. The fashion of Japan reflects Japanese mentality in a direct way, bringing out the inward for all to see in the form of individual unique dress code. For a country more synonymous with "conformity" (and probably why we see such explosions in raw talent and art) the clothes are a form of release due to this constraint on emotion and personal identity.  Before we talked a lot of Japanese traditional inspirations, then let's talk about Japanese avant garde fashion cultures this time.
   There is no doubt Japanese avant garde culture gave the fashion industry's situation a big shocks from 70s-90s.  During 1950s (After Korea civil war exactly) japanese economic situation had improved so much, it gave the design industry a really great condition.Before 1970s western trends influenced the whole world. As the center of fashion, western technics advances and machines that make fabric are more and more able to produce uniform, flawless prints. But fashion always needs more new elements, infusions of the vibrant and new is needed constantly. Japan has been inspired by western fashion, japanese fashion absorbed European traditional style and kept japanese traditional weaving technics, brought a new creativity to global fashion industry:asian costume based cuts, natural,neat, loose, poetic style that european and american fashion didn't have. As know as ISSEY MIYAKE, YOHJI YAMAMOTO and REI KAWAKUBO these artists started Japanese avant garde age. Until 1980s it became one of the most important design countries, a new fashion center, a well known artistic and high tech country in the world.
   But why japanese design could combine eastern and western culture so perfectly and present themselves so successfully?
   1. Single ethnic nation and different types of religions. especially chinese Taoism and Buddhism gave japanese people a flexible and acceptable mind, won't stock in one standard. It become so easy to absorb other foreign cultures and creative new thing by their own.
   2. Japanese arts and fashion culture never belong to any special class. They belong to everyone.
   3. Many respects of their traditional artisan cultures. I think it is the most important reason, if they just absorb other cultures, it will become other type of copy.But Japanese people did so much efforts to protect their traditional artisan cultures and always put more new elements in.
   4. High level of economic development. it is the basis to help japanese design and fashion improve so quickly.
   5. A great balance of any details.
   In the end, there are three basic perspectives in Japanese traditional culture topics, although they are not only talk about Japanese fashion but also means more different type of culture in Japan, but I think they are still the best summaries of the core of japanese designs. they are:
    l) wabi: the meaning of nothing, zero, limited;
   2) sabi:
meaning is eternal and frugalthe unity of function and form;

3shibuimeaning serious culture. Refers to the material freehandfrugalnever show off.

Miss Boyish.

   We have to admit to ourselves that at some point or another our childish nature comes out or is seen to others, tho there is nothing wrong with it, no one can always be tough and strong (or more to say an adult day in and day out), we only show our childish part to our family or closest friends. Maybe we could call it innocent elegance, that sound's nicer. Once my friend told me,"if you dress very mature already, that means you already getting older. I like people dressing girlish somehow as long as they won't behave like a child." But this time I will show my boyish part, because I am not really a girlish person.
   I like watching movies about boys, how does the boy school look like in the the beginning of last century, how they grew up with pain and friendship. Youth, tears, laughs, fantasy,that person you never forget in your childhood...everyone has the similar experiences when we were growing up, that's why those movies could always touches me.
  Classic boyish style was mixed by shirt, high waist pants, belt, leather shoes and socks. But I won't copy them all, lady flats and clutch keep the color balance also won't make the look too cute. The pattern of shirt looks quite like an English boy. Oh well so the theme of this time is Miss boyish!

Firenze 4Ever.

   Has been many very intense trips since last weekend, but they were amazing experiences.  Now I could talk about what happened in this week properly after I came back to my lovely home.
   Was invited by Luisaviaroma, I came to Firenze again to attend Firenze 4ever event. I am never bored to visit Firenze, each time it refreshed my impressions of this city. Every place has a story behind it, every scene I visit is full of details. Definitely had so much fun in the shop, it was so nice to come across my idol designer, meet old friends and make new friends, also I gained a lot of experiences from style lab works.Thanks everyone who cooperated with me in my styling case, they were so professional and impressed me so much.  The trips in Italy was almost excellent (well apart from the heat and sunshine, it was too hot...).

One of the most beautiful cities in the planet-Firenze.

My Style Lab works.

   It was so lucky to work with Francesco and Ania together for these looks. Instead of being the model, I wanted to be a professional stylist this time. Ania is a totally amazing lady, she is cool but attractive, sexy but innocent. As what I said before, I present my style as art pieces, Ania is a perfect person to express my ideas.  ( I will post more pictures of the whole series in next week separately).

   My idol designer Mrs Rosita Missoni and my friend Tiany! So sweeeet!

Banquet and SuperHeros.

    Another impressive thing was the Banquet. Not only just the length of table, but also the decorated foods. It was full of salt which comes from Sicilian coast of the island, has 5 million years! (I gave one to my boyfriend when I came back to Berlin and he swallowed it right away....Crazy?) Oh well it was luxury. It was a totally an amazing sleepless night in Super Heros party.

Eastern Philosophies.

   Some of my friends said I should talk more of Asian traditional inspired cultures in the fashion dairies. Actually I love presenting looks which have been inspired by Asian ancient histories, but I don't have too many opportunities (Perhaps because I am  based in the west).
   The theme of today is called"Eastern Philosophies". One outfit, two emotions. Inspirations from ancient Chinese recluse to the neutral style in the beginning of last century.
   Chinese ancient philosophy presents a thinking of  the "Nothing and Void", everything in the world actually is "empty", this theme appeared in Buddism and Daoism many times. People live in the world as energy, to experience different life. Difference is Buddhism thinks life is a cycle of re births and new beginnings , but Daoism thinks the energy will be immortal after death. Chinese philosophers such as Laozi thought people should have inner peace,stay gentle( actually it means just let everything be).Was inspired by these gentle culture, Chinese hermits or people of a solitary disposition present a kind of idyllic life style "keep far away from the society" would be the motto and goal, the few influences brought upon them the better. This was seen as a form of purism where in the influence of the many (society) would pollute the individual on a singular objective. As societies often are corrupt via government, greed, or material beliefs that "one must gain as many things as possible and aim to be at the top of the pyramid", so it is understandable how some during that time long ago (and even at present) choose to be recluses.  Something I can never be, people are too important for me and I thrive around them. Since I was young I always think in the thought ways of Daoism and that a solitary life full with calm and education, books upon books to fill the mind and imagination is the most wonderful thing, the best part of life is to have this choice. To when ever you want you can find your calm to be as a Daoist or Monk and have peace in the mind and heart, that is all I want. Yet, the world is growing more and more, shoulder to shoulder we sit, stand, eat and work.
Even despite the ever increasing resemblance of daily life to that of packed sardines I hope you, we all, find calm and peace.

The movie" The magic Crane",1993

   Now let's travel to the beginning of last century in China (Jump in my time machine!).  I wore the same outfit as the last one, but it looks like a  traveller outfit now. At 1910-20s, Chinese gentleman's outfits were adjusted from Qing traditional style, but also mixed with Han's style and western style. Straw hat and round shape glasses was very popular in men's fashion during this period. After the western culture influence, the look became neutral and causal.
