Memories upon a maple leaf.

  Once, when I was a child I remember a simple autumn. The autumn was with a gentle wind and a calm relaxing feeling in the air, with the wind carring with it across my face and all around me maple leafs. In this particular memory I remember walking early in the morning down a long road with maple trees on both sides. At first, I was oblivious to the trees and everything else , totally lost amongst my own thoughts.

    Then a leaf flew past my nose, this snapped me to reality and my gaze followed the motion of the leaf. It seemed like poetry in motion, unfolding right be front of me and this performance it seemed to be only for me. Still walking and following the leaf , it rose high into the trees and then a strong wind blew so many of the maple leafs from the ground where they had fallen and from the trees themselves . All around me maple leafs were dancing and greeting me, as if they had life, sentient …..it all felt so surreal as if I walked into a movie.  I would look behind me and there would be the director, and a technician using a massive fan to blow the leafs, then I would hear “Cut!”.

     Yet, this was reality and I think I witnessed something amazingly simple yet complex in motion, something that people never pay attention to. It felt wonderful to experience this and I realized at that moment I was so lucky. Such a warm and happy memory. This is why the shirt I am wearing today is in a way special for me, because it brought back a memory I thought lost to me.
