Somewhere in time.

Traveling back a time to be a elegant exotic victorian lady was my dream when I saw James Tissot's arts at the first time. What did you like the most of Victorian era? Steam punk, glamour dress or some gothic details? To be honest it is difficult for me to pick. I love everything from the old time. After watching < Midnight in Paris >, I start to think the golden era always belong to the past for everyone. In the modern time people are too busy to pay attention to the surrounding, most of people doesn't want to open their eyes to look at this world properly, also doesn't want to think about everything independently. High efficiency become the most important thing in the modern time. The sad thing is - Great arts and cultures need people's unique attitudes, independent thinking, life enjoyment.  Maybe it is time to open our eyes to see this world again.
The theme this time is " Victorian Gothic", the inspirations from James Tissot's drawing. His works show the lively victorian urban images. The other very important inspiration from Coco Chanel, she was the fashion designer of last century who I respect the most, a real unique icon.

  7. Gorgeous illustration and photographs as usual! That's definitely the same feeling I got from watching that movie (I also had a renewed interest in all these different fashions from those time periods.) I think you got the Vicorian Gothic style down really well especially with all the detailing from the gloves to your hat. Thanks for sharing these inspirational paintings!
