The first time I saw Misha Lee's graduation project I couldn't move my eyes, I felt like a kid, discovering something new full wonder, something to amaze the senses and inspire. The project is called "SILHOUETTES", it was inspired by traditional chinese shadow play. Something use when people wanted to see a show or tell a story, this was very popular a long time ago. For a long time I didn't think most of Chinese young designers could present traditional ethnic styles very well, of course there are many but non stand out so much. But this time I was surprised by these wonderful settings. She used so much romantic ethnic elements to decorate, for example chinese flowers and birds silhouettes style and old lanterns style.I don't know why but somehow they remind me of the movie"Raise the Red Lantern“. Normally people use leather to make shadow play, these pieces are also made from leather. These pieces seems really fragile but actually they are strong trust me :D. Such a classic idea, such a romantic style, such poetic details, such great combination. Everything is so amazing . romantic, dramatic and poetic, they are all we need, aren't they?
