Sometimes I got many emails with the same question,I think it is much easier to write a post to answer the question together and talk about my drawings properly. I hope you could find the answer you want to know from this Q&A :)
Which type of tool do you use for your painting? is it a hand painting technique or is it cg?
Which type of tool do you use for your painting? is it a hand painting technique or is it cg?
- Actually I draw the picture first on paper, with ink or pencil and colors. and then scan to the photoshop to continue. There is an art shop next to me where I go to get my tools. Faber-Castell is a great model as well as Edding55 a light grey color that has a 0.05 tip. As well as a Ink brush with cartridges that you can change, this brush is so nice because it simulates a very oriental feel and look.
What inspires you?
- Anything can inspire me in life, my suroundings such as the world in which I live, the people around me as well. many artists say this, yet personaly I dont feel that they mean what they say.
The world is a place full of wonder in many different forms and types, from the animal kingdom, to
nature itself as the elements and people of course. Each one of us has our own unique and special characer, sometimes it is hard to see this I know. But when you observe people closer you see something special in everyone.
When it comes to artists, Monet. His color is wonderfull and full of passion. Van Gogh, Klimt, Rembrant. For modern illustrators James Jean is someone I aspire to become as good as.
Can you draw a Portrait of me?
-Sadly no I can not, many artists such as me have a very heavy work load. My work is mainly freelance but also I work in a company, as well as books that I am working on (our secret ok!).
There is so much, also i have to still study art as others do all the time to make the foundation in my art strong. Practice is always important and the main thing that will only ever improve your art.
Can you teach me how to draw?
-The first way to start is to have a passion for art, and design. to learn the fundementals of art, theory and practice. There are many great books out there that can teach you this such as Perspective Drawing Handbook By Joseph D Amelio. The reason why I give this book is because Perspective is one of the main, main things in art and many artists even neglect this. You have to master this and learn it very well. Understanding also that art is not really so compicated as in theworld every shape has basic ones underneath it, such as Sphere, Conce, Cube, Cylinder. That is it really, this is the big secret to art. Then you see your fingers there are four Cylinders, the palm a Cube, the knuckles spheres e.t.c.
Most professional artists that i have seen practice seeing the world as such. Automatically later on as their skill improves they see shapes like this in their mind which makes it much easier for you to make anything. You can buy so many books on art, just make sure to buy ones that teach you in a simple and direct way. Another main thing is that to have patience and to be consisent. Every day draw!
Do you draw the illustration first or do you draw the picture first?
- Take he picture first then do the illusration, this way I have a ref image that helps the process.
Why do you always leave a watermark on your image?
- Because people have taken my work in the past without asking, or without me even knowing. But sooner or later you always find out, and it isnt difficult then to take it to a legal stance. It is also a law called "intellectual properly", each artists should watermark or make sure to let others knowthat this image be it cg or traditional is their own work.
What is your plan for the future?
- Right now, i just want to be a great artists and in the future if I have a chance I would like to produce my own fashion designs, collections, publish more books and generaly be really active in the Art & Fashion industry.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure this has been answered or mentioned somewhere already, but I do have a question about your outfits. I understand that you create and put together an outfit after you draw/paint your design, but do you put together each outfit with clothes you already have? Or perhaps you make or buy them according to your drawings/paintings each time? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely blog.
